I just got my ccw and I think it is the perfect excuse to buy another gun. I would like some honest opinions on what I should pick up for my carry weapon.

The guns I am considering are:

USPc .40
P2000sk .40
HK45c

Thanks for any thoughts on my next purchase.

If you are wanting a CCW pistol, the P2000SK would of course be a good choice. I do not own one, but I do own a HK45C and a USPc9, and although EXCELLENT firearms, they are not the easiest to conceal for me anyway, (slim build, summer clothes pretty much year-round here...) Some people could conceal a Desert Eagle in jogging shorts... it all depends a lot on your build and a little on choice of clothing.

Welcome to the forum, either one you choose it will be a great firearm that you will enjoy! Good luck.

Have you considered the regular P2000? Of those you mentioned, I would opt for the P2000SK in the caliber of choice.

if you dont mind it being not HK,

another great German gun is Sig Sauer, model 232SL

its perhaps one of the best carry pistols I have ever come across, and for that reason I own one,

it has extremely smooth lines for no hang ups when making a quick draw and will not catch on anything like a sweater or a jacket, perfectly rounded and smooth curves which is very important for carry,

and the SL model comes from the factory set with real bright Night Sights and a real nice non slip Rubber Grip Handle which fits me personally perfect, the gun just does not fall out of my hand...

it is a very nice small gun chambered in 380, and is very ideal to conceal and for carry,

I got mine in Stainless Steel so the bad guys can see exactly what it is that I'm pointing at them, and that its not a toy.

hope this helps.

I've got large hands, the P2000sk, was on the small side for me , where as the P2000 fit my needs perfectly, not only for feel , but for carry too, I made a pancake holster for it , and put in a grip forward cant, this holster holds the gun close to my body and out of sight, I also put in a thumb break safety, I also use a Fobus Roto Paddle holster. but my Pancake seems to hold it in closer and more out of sight. And mine is in 40 S&W.

I am planning to get the P2000SK, 9mm, in the next couple of weeks.

+1, Ten Wolves. I feel the same about the P2000. However, of the choices given, I'd go with the HK45c, Zero. I just don't like the snap of the .40 in a sub gun.

I hate to say this but I have never shot a 380 auto before. I hear they are comparable to a 9 mm in recoil and terminal performance is this true boobaala?

Need I even respond?
If it is not a .45, why bother?

i dunno BB, sometimes i feel like shooting more than once is just fun. I mean, think about it... even your .45's have more than one bullet in the magazine. SHOOT HIM AGAIN!

hi,

yes it is basically like a 9mm but just a tab smaller, and just a tab lighter recoil, barely noticeable.

i am ofcourse a big fan of HK and mostly collect their rifles.

but for carry decided to go with that model, and it being made of all steel for long life with the factory night sights and the non slip rubber grip it just kinda fits like a glove, and to me that was most important over anything as well as it being specifically designed to be snag proof with its all smoothly rounded curves on all the edges.

also my hands are not big so its hard to hold the large caliber with larger frame guns, which is again why this one was my personal choice,

but nothing beats a 45 for the true stopping power and the good ole one shot does it saying,

but then again i had lost my best friend to a robber who killed him with just one shot of a small 22 caliber handgun,
the round basically bounced back and forth all throught his internals and one shot was more than enough to kill him and take his life...

was a very sad day in my life and made me view life in a whole different way...

so carrying a 380 all steel would let the bad guys know im not playing around.

hope this helps.

Well, with the lower capacity .45's, when the legal team asks you why you shot the bg 9 times there is an easy response..."because I ran out of bullets."

If it were me, I'd go with either a .40 P2000, or a 9mm P2000SK.

I just got a P2000sk and i,m still looking for the right holster, it fits and feel ok inside the waist band, anfmight just leave it there, but you would have to have diff. options for the time of year and the clothes you wear, I also have a S&W 38special (637) that is perfect in size but only carries 5 shots as compared with 10 your choice, harley 104

I made a customer of mine a shoulder holster for winter carry, or when wearing a coat most of the time, and a Pancake holster for the warmer weather, where his gun can be worn under a sport shirt or t-shirt, the Pancake holds the gun close in with a grip forward cant for easy draw, it has a thumb break safety, but can be made without one too, these two type holsters make a nice combination and serve there purpose. I made the shoulder holster without a safety strap, it's snug enough to hold the gun securely, but easy to draw and reholster, the gun is held in an upright position with a slight grip forward cant. This might give some ideas to think about.
