SYSTEM CHARACTERISTICS
OF THE MP5SD VARIANTS:
- Principle
of operation: Recoil operated weapon with delayed
blowback bolt
- Firing pin ignition
- Upon cessation of fire, the
bolt is closed
- Subsonic speed of the bullets
is achieved via bore in the barrel reducing the gas
pressure
- The muzzle blast is attenuated via a silencer
- The weapon fires ammunition cal. 9 mm x 19 in Single,
Bursts (2/3 rounds) and automatic fire
- Cartridge cases are ejected to the right
- Magazine
capacity: 15/30 Cartridges
- The MP5SD is available in several versions with the
following modes of fire:
- As a submachine gun for semiautomatic fire only
- Semiautomatic and burst fire
- Single, burst and full automatic fire
- Sights: Rotary aperture sight, Adjustable for windage
and elevation.
- The fixed buttstock may be replaced by a retractable
buttstock or a receiver end cap
- Telescopic sight supports for telescopic sights or
other aiming units with STANAG supports
